Gemut.com?!?!

I read some good things about them here so I emailed a request for airline tickets. Their price is almost $300 more than I found myself. From what I read here they usually are less expensive. Can anyone recommend a good rental car company in Germany?

Thanks!

I got a price from autoeurope and a price from Gemut for a rental car last month, p/u in Munich, drop in Zurich. Gemut was about $40 cheaper, yet they use autoeurope for my contract, renting from Avis.

You just gotta shop around.

I believe the raves on here about Gemut being cheaper may be with regards to car rentals and not airline tickets.

I’ll give them a try for the car rental, then. Thanks!

I would shop around. If you are in Germany, you might get a deal from Sixt on a BMW or Mercedes.

Additionally, ask for a diesel. The fuel is cheaper and you get better mileage - 2 ways to save.

I have tried several times to get a quote for auto rental from Gemut. They only seem to quote for rental with absolutely no CDW, so it is hard to compare. Sure, their rates LOOK better if they quote no insurance while everyone else has it.

As I have had a bad experience relying on my credit card for insurance in this country, I am reluctant to try it way over there.

I have a hard time believing Larryincolorado would actually shop for a rental car since he is usually so adamant that trains are the only way to go. Larry - have you ever driven in Germany?

Bob or Andy Bestor at Gemütlichkeit (gemut.com) will get you the best price on a rental car. Call them at 800-521-6722 and check for yourself. They've always found the best prices for myself and my Stammtisch who are frequent travelers to Germany...

What kind of credit card do you have? I have CitiBank and they sent me the MasterRental Insurance and it's definitely covered for the CDW. I also received a quote from Bob Bestor, it was for Avis and by far not the lowest.

Go on www.webcarhire.com, I received a low quote from them, check it out.

Just out of curiosity, I put in our dates and cities on Sixt and webcarehire.com...Gemut's price is better than either. I wonder why sometimes it is and other times it isn't...anyone know the answer to that?
