Fuel is sold in litres. Current price, which varies between locations, is around 1.30 euro/litre ($6/US Gal) for unleaded and 1.20 euro/litre ($5.60/US Gal) for diesel. It can vary by about 3 cents higher or lower. Almost all fuel stations take credit cards, and thankfully, DCC is rare.

The prices are right but like someone said above the MPG is much higher! In a two week trip where we circumnavigated the country from Dublin to Dublin we used the equivilant of 3 tanks of gas. This includes touring the Dingle Penninsula, country roads, city driving etc.

We returned on June 15 and unleaded gas ran about 1.33 euros a litre. We traveled around the country, and I was surprised at how little the price changed from place to place. I'm used to driving an hour away and the price can be up to .10 cents per gallon lower!
