Galway B&B

I will be traveling to Galway for 2 days at the end of this month (getting very excited about the trip!), but I have waited too long to book accommodations! There are a few B&B that can accommodate us - does anyone know anything about any of these?

Ivernia B&B - 1/2 way between Salthill and Galway
Trieste - In Saltill
Periwinkle - Salthill
Prague House - 5 min. wallk to Eyre Square
Kilculle House - 5 min. wallk to Eyre Square

the other, cheaper option is to stay at Barnacles Hostel right in the heart of town.

Any advice would be much appreciated since the trip is coming up so very soon!

I don't remember the name of the B&B we stayed at in Galway but I do remember thinking I wished we would have stayed at Jury's Hotel instead. The location is very good, it looked like a nice place and the cost was not bad. http://www.irelandin1.com/ireland_ho...ay_ireland.jsp

If its not too late, we stayed last week at Liscarra House in Salthill, Ethna is a fabulous host, the rooms were spacious, quiet & a couple of houses off the promanade (waterviews from some rooms)a pleasant 30 min walk along water to Galway or a bus at bottom of street for 1.80 euros. Very nice B&B homepage.eircom.net/~gerregan/

Killeen House is the best B&B I've ever stayed in. And as my posts clearly show, I'm very picky.

We recently returned from Galway and spent two nights at Prague House. It was quite nice. If you want to be very near to Galway City Center, it's an ideal location. However, it can be a bit noisy with traffic, given its location. After having stayed in Galway and, given our love of the water, if we were to return, we'd probably stay in the lower salthill area. However, I can say that I think you would enjoy Prague House if you're goal is to stay close to the city.

We stayed outside of Galway at Delphi Lodge which is only 45 min. away and less than 30 min. from Westport. We didnt want to stay in Galway, but the drive was easy to get to. Westport is a lovely town to visit though. Have a great time.

Hello--sorry, not familiar with the places you list, but we did stay at Liscarra in Salthill, as "wilkie" also notes, and we thoroughly enjoyed our visit.

There is also a wonderful neighborhood restaurant for dinners within walking distance that Ethna recommended, The Rockbarton, and it was a delight. I hope you find accommodations and that you have a grand trip -- Ireland is magical!
