from cinque terre to london

I need advice re my proposed itinerary for my family trip to Europe. We have 2 full days to spend in Cinque Terre before leaving for Australia from London. What will be the quickest way to get from Cinque Terre to London? We are driving to get to Cinque Terre from Nice but we can either fly from Milan or drive back to Nice or train back to either. As we have 2 children aged 12 and 9 we would like to travel the most convenient way back to our departure point. We leave Cinque Terre on 22/4/07 and we leave London for Australia on 24/4. My husband generally enjoys driving so that won't be an issue. What do people think? Would it be better not to squeeze in Cinque Terre and just go to London for our last week. We are spending 4 nights in Paris, 4 nights in Gordes, 5 nights in Nice before arriving in the Cinque Terre. Hope someone can help with their ideas.

Drive west 1 hour to Genoa - fly Ryanair from Genoa to London Stansted.

Just to point out that if you do fly to Stansted then allow at least 6 hours between landing & taking off at any other London airport.

Given you want to get to Oz, I would consider either flying back to the UK the day before or move your Cinque Terre trip to the middle of your UK holiday so you don't have to panic about catching flights.

Yes - I've been thinking the same thing which is probably why I was asking this question. So, I think we will spend the last few days of our holiday in the UK and leave Cinque Terre for another time when we can do justice to it!!

Thanks so much for helping me make up my mind.
