Well the town is a gem, just over the hill from Nice but in a cove - animated port, classic architecture in port buildings - a gem - great train service all up and down the Cote d'Azur.
The school i don't know but it's probably what YOU make of it.

Slightly off topic. I cannot recommend Schaum's Outline Series for learning French highly enough. Go through it from cover to cover.
Things I learnt that are enormously important AFTER my degree.
French has open syllables, English closed
English: ed uc at ion
French: e du ca tio(n)
Each and every syllable is pronounced, in English we will stress one and eat the rest.
English speakers speak through their noses. Learn not to nasalise every vowel.

I took a month course in 1998. I had very good memories of the institut and the town. If you write me at [email protected], I can answer any questions you have. Last April, I went back for a revisit since I missed it so much. I still would like to go back to school again, if I have extra money and my husband will go with me. That time I was all alone.
