Frankfurt 14 hour layover-What to do?
My wife & I have a layover in Frankfurt for a full Saturday in mid-december from 7:00am until 9:30pm. How should we get to a from the city, and what do you recommend we do for fun while there?
Thanks for the help!

Haven't been to Frankfurt but if no one responds to your question repost again until they do and/or try www.eurotrip.com (they have 15 travelboards) and try the EXCITE search engine. type in "travel in Frankfurt" and a virtual website of the city will come up-look for the "citynet" address.

There is a train connection between town & airport (train station located right at the airport). That's the fastest and most practicle way to get into the city. A pretty quarter in town is called Sachsenhausen (pronnounced saxenhausen). People go there to sit in "pub like" wine bars and drink apple-wine. Recommended! Shopping can be done in the pedestrian zone (called Zeil) not far feom the old opera house. Also check www.city.net

Go to Heidelberg. Short trip by car. Nice castle. Nice shops and easy to get back to the airport. I have lived in Germany and traveled thru Frankfurt many times but never been to Frankfurt.
You will ejoy Heidelberg and they may be having some Christmas markets going on. Most German cities do at this time.
