France/Paris in April

My husband and I are planning on celebrating our 10th ann. in France. I would appreciate any suggestions about hotels to stay in, places not to miss, anything! Thanks!

Congratulations on your upcoming anniversary. But, if you do a search for Paris, you will already find so many answers to your questions.

How about doing some basic research? France is a whole, huge, varied country, not a speck on the map. Would you like a recommendation for a hotel in Obernai? Carjac? St-Jean-Pied-de-Port? Gordes? St-Brieuc? Any clue what part of France you're headed to?

What sort of things are you interested in seeing? Countryside? Architecture? Museums? Markets? Fashion? Food?

How long are you staying?

Go to a bookstore or library and do some reading and get a feel for what kind of trip you want to take, and then maybe people can help you.

What would you recommend my husband and I do in America? We're planning an anniversary there.

IMO is absolutely right.

Marla, where do you want to go? What do you want to do? You want romance? You want sites? What time of the year? Riviera, Paris, Alsace, Normandy? Give us a place to start.

Why can't all of you "seasoned experts" cut your sarcasm? Is it possible for you to advise someone instead of belittle the person?

You will have to figure out the type of things you like to see, then plan from there. For example my wife and I wanted to see Paris so 6 nights in Paris. Next we wanted to see some of the finest chateaux so 4 nights in the Loire Valley. Last we wanted to see vineyards and medieval villages so we picked Burgundy for 5 nights. We are now planning a return trip to Burgundy and will add Provence this time.
