France Invades Berlin!

In a role reversal the French will be invading Berlin to take on Italy in the World Cup Final match, July 9th! Allez les Bleues! Appropriately the French victory will occur in the Olympic Stadium made infamous in 1936 by Hitler and the Jessie Owens victory.

logos99- what i headlined is exactly what the World Cup announcers (ESPN US broadcast) said - tongue in cheek of course at the conclusion of the France-Portugal match.

It's amusing to read the other Fodors posts on the World Cup to see which other teams posters were SURE were going to make it to the finals. England-Argentina or England-Germany were among the most common predictions. Nobody predicted an Italy-France final. The Italians were dismissed as mere "show ponies."

Dis donc, allez Zizou!

I laughed reading the "show Ponies description referring to the Italian Soccer team.
Unfortunately some people for various personal reasons , which Jelousy is the main factor, seems to forget that Italy won the World Cup 3 Times...

I wonder how many times their country actually won the World Cup? How many times they fulfilled the Impossible dream?
A penny for your thoughts..

Forza Azzurri....

<laughing> Les Pizzas, PalQ? How unkind....

I'll be sitting in a sports bar in Phoenix, Arizona at 11.55 Sunday, in my team supporters jersey, watching the kickoff.....

Allez les Bleues!

Lol Kismet I really enjoy those small fights over the internet. If we win I'll be a bit sad for you (at least I'll have a thought)and if we lose I hope you'll do the same! Peace and Love!
Pal you may say Zidane domine, règne en maître. Zidane "le maître" or "Dieu" as Thierry Henri calls him with affection. ;-)
I was not sleeping when you wrote your post last night but there was a rerun of "Sex and the city" on TV.. But I'm almost sure you're sleeping now! ;-)
