Sublime, Bob. Thanks for sharing. It gave me withdrawal symptoms. Haven't been to Venice for over a year.

How fun! Thanks for sharing, Bob! (I didn't realize you were from Chapel Hill - I was at Carolina for three years for grad school!)

Your pictures were wonderful. I really enjoyed the format, I hadn't seen a presentation like that before. Ah, Venice. I still want to pinch myself to think that I have actually been there and seen these sights. Thank you for posting this, I could look at pictures of Venice all day.

Wonderful Bob! How many photogs have that shot of the red house on Burano and what is it about laundry?! I have the same shot of ground color tray-around Campo Stefano?

Loved the music also.

I ask about camera because I need to upgrade from my little kodak point and click but not into something that a semi or pro photographer would use as I am not that good at it.

JoanneH, I don't know what Bob uses, but I've been really pleased with the Canon Powershot line. I have one and know a few others who do - they take great pictures but are easy to use.

Joanne, You really need to pick a price point. I have owned 3 different Fuji cameras over the past 9 years and like their picture quality. There are 2 secrets to good shots--one is to have a good eye for potential images, and the other is to edit, edit, edit so others only see your best 20%. A fancy camera may help, but is secondary to the above.

I have a Fuji that I bought specifically for the low-light capabilities, and it's great.

Bob, liked the Truman Show music (Mozart's Piano Sonata No. 11)!

Yes---you get to pick your music from a menu in the program.
It really is quite simple.
