Fodors Unite! Paris or Amalfi Coast which one?
Who has been to both Paris and the Amalfi Coast. I have two free plane tics to either Paris or Rome anytime this year, and I can't decide which one to choose. My husband and I will travel for about a week and we are in out late twenties, early thirties. We want to chill, eat, and see some interesting native sights. Whats your opinion?

Paris.
But seriously, if you can't decide you might as well flip a coin. Paris and Rome are two of the most visited cities in the world for good reason, and it's really a matter of personal preference. I love Paris, but if you want gorgeous scenery along with your city sights, Rome and the Amalfi Coast is a good trip for a week (4 days in Rome, 3 on AC).

Paris is exciting and beautiful with lots to do. However, if you can go when the weather is great, the Amalfi Coast is simply stunning. So, Paris anytime; Amalfi Coast in good weather. Hard choice. Great museums and cathedrals in Paris. Pompeii, Capri, etc. and great natural scenery on water on AC. Both are romantic. Great food in both places.

have been to both and they provide different things. Go to Paris anytime but Amalfi Coast depends on season.I wouldn't do both in 7 days as flying in to Rome and then travelling to Amalfi will take up a large portion of a day just one way. What season/time are you considering?

Decide if you are a country mouse, or a city mouse and go from there. If that doesn't work, flip a coin and go to one first and the other next....but NOT on the same trip. BTW, if you do go to the AC for 7 days, try to rent a car and drive to Paestum, it is a great, and fairly untouristed, stop that many miss.

Hi am,
>Could I do both in about seven days?<
Sure, but it is not something I would do- 3 nights Paris and 3 nights on the AC.
I think that flying out of Naples might be easier than flying out of Rome.

End of May is a good time.
