Fodor's Guide to Germany- You quoted me!!

I just got an email saying that I was quoted in the new guide to Germany. I thought that it was a late April Fool's joke, but it appears legit.

Isn't that nice? Thanks Fodor's! How can I see the quote??

I would like to know how to see my quote, too, as I already have a Spain guide... maybe the editors will be so kind as to email it to us.

Hi EmilyC,

I got the e-mail too. But I'm impatient, so I found it, and you're on the same page that mine is.

Just go to the Fodors bookstore online (click on the link above) and go to the 24th Edition of the Germany guide. Then you just page forward (I couldn't find a way to go right to the page) to about page 85, right after the München pages. You'll be able to see the "Word of Mouth" in big print, and there you are! You can click to enlarge the page.

Have fun -- it's neat!

That is just great. And, of all of the things that I love about this area, hiking is # 1 so I am glad that the quote got picked!!!

Hey, make them send you a copy as offered in that email.
I'm quoted, too...

I assume I am in the Spain guide, but I can't flip through pages of anything.

I was quoted in the Belgium guidebook and will check it out in my local Borders travel section. Ordered my free travel book of France immediately. Thanks Fodors!

Hi lincasanova,

Once you have the book on your screen, just click the little arrow pointing to the right. Since I knew my comments would be for the area around München, my search was very easy.

Hope you don't have any trouble finding it!

I am pretty sure you can't do that with the Spain guide. Correct me if I am wrong.

No, you're right. How bizarre! Wonder why there is a difference with that guide??

Hope you'll get it in your hands soon so you can check it.

I was quoted in the Paris guide last year and thought the email was a joke at first also! They will send you a free book but I have to tell you, it's a blast walking into borders and opening a book with your quotes in it!

I found mine. It's on the "Beating the Euro" page under Food & Drink.

Last year, I got a free copy of the new Switzerland guide for my Word of Mouth comment that was included in that edition.

Free guide books!!

I, too, was quoted in the Germany guide. I went to Barnes & Nobles yesterday and looked through the book and found my quote about Rothenburg ob der Tauber. It is really nice to see something published with my name in it! I chose the 2009 Montreal/Quebec City book since I am going there this summer with my two children.

Just got my Germany Guide! Did not make the large chapter quotes, but just happy to be listed!

Thanks for the book, Fodors!

Congrats to all the Fodorites who were quoted....some more than once!!

WOW - I got such an email I think, but I thought it was spam, so I just deleted it.
Did your emails have any "official" Fodor's look to them? I can't even remember for what book it was supposed to be. LOL

Inspired by this thread, I just decided to google my screen name and Fodors, and I found a quote of mine in the 2009 Los Angeles guide. Exciting!

I didn't get any e-mails about it, though.
