Fodor's Editors: How Did your Meeting Go?
Danny & other editors:
Were you able to come up with a solution to the sub-divided forums at your meeting? Many of us are patiently waiting (or not so patiently, as we click and click to go back and forth). It looks to me like new postings are down, probably no one can figure out the best place to post and/or get an answer. I really hope you bring back our previous format soon, I for one do not have time to check so many different places when I log in.
Perhaps next time some big changes are in the works you can warn us ahead of time and take a poll. This is a great site and I'm really appreciative of your support of it, but it just doesn't work well all broken up.
Keep us posted.

Lori --

Our meeting went well. We decided to take a few of you up on the suggestion to use the Grab Bag question to allow everyone who uses Travel Talk to discuss the pros and cons of the new system. That question went up this morning.

I do apologize for the lack of immediate warning about the change. It had been such a big topic of discussion in the forums earlier in the year (and so many users had requested we split off the forums) that I guess we figured the "poll" had already been taken. We'll endeavor in the future to be better about keeping everyone posted.

In the meantime, I hope we have a lively debate about the new format. Thanks for your input.

Yours truly,

Danny Mangin
Editorial Director
Fodors.com
Mr Mangin

I yield to no-one in my admiration for this web site; but may I gripe just a bit.

I went for a browse round the site the othre day and discover that I can't play in your competition becuase I don't stay in the US.

I can't find any discussion in this Forum which is where I live almost exclusively, about splitting. Did it happen in the US site? If so, same issue.
Sheila,
I think the U.S. forum folks have griped a bit about keeping Hawaii separate and maybe - I really don't recall anyone on this forum requesting it. I think they missed the point completely with this split, they never gave a thought to those who travel to several countries and have multiple questions.
