Congratulations to you all! I got the same thrill as I was in this year's Ireland book, from something I wrote about my 1996 trip.

"Portmeirion, close to Harlech, is a must-see - it was a brainchild of an...Englishman who built [Italian-style buildings] on land overlooking an estuary. The...whole place is like a fantasy world. You can rent some of the houses."

Awful english, Kate. If I'd known I was being quoted, I'd have paid more attention to my grammar. I heartily agree with my comments, however.

It was fun to stop at Barnes and Noble today and see the quotes. I checked out the France 2006 edition, too. From now on, we should all double check our spelling, punctuation and grammar, if we are going to be quoted!

Yippee Skippee--no idea what I said, but I'll be looking at B&N tomorrow to find out!

Well that's pretty cool!
Do you think this is the humble beginning of a lucrative career as a travel writer?!

Well, isn't that special? (smile) Guess I'll just have to go out to a bookstore and peruse that which I don't even remember writing!

thanks for the info.
