Flowers and Lambs! Timing Our Trip to Ireland
Having traveled to Europe several times, I have learned that while I enjoy touring museums, castles, and such, my enjoyment is immeasurably enhanced when the natural beauty of the country is at its peak. I especially enjoy seeing the local flowers in bloom, and I have visions of seeing lambs gamboling about in the fields during a visit to Ireland. I've researched the timing online but haven't found much helpful information. When would we most likely catch the height of blooming season and see the lambs? We can travel any time of year but prefer to go April-May-June or September-October. Are there areas of the country where we are more likely to see these? Thanks in advance for your expertise.

lambs and peak of bloom season don't necessarily coincide. Though there will be the early Spring flowers.
Lambing generally will be late Feb through late March and the lambs will still be little/cute through about April/early May
You will see sheep every month of the year and just about everywhere -- but the little lambs gamboling. . . you need to travel in early spring.

Thanks! Looks like we may have to decide which is more important
. We live in a sub-tropical climate, so our peak blooming season is March-early May and I sometimes underestimate how much later the flowers bloom in other places.

The tulips and daffodils would be a treat as we don't have those but when would the roses and herbaceous borders be blooming? I loved the amazing flowers we saw during our two visits to England but missed most of the blooms on our trips to Italy, France, and Switzerland.
