Florence resturant?

As usual, my husband and I have a difference of opinion on where to eat on our first night in Florence. I say we should go to Il Latini because we can go early and leave relatively qiuckly. (We have been there and really enjoyed it and the service is pretty quick...we're usually opposed rushing through a meal but we will be really tired from travel.)He would like to go to Trattoria Cammillo, which we have never been to. Any opinions?

If you're wanting something hearty, semi-casual and family style then I'd highly recommend Antica Pizzeria dell?Arte on via del Giglio, 28. We ate there twice, fairly early (comparitively) and loved it all. My husband had a steak, I had homemade soup and salad and my son had pizza margherita. He still claims that was the best pizza he's ever had. When we went the second time, they recognized us and greeted us like we were old friends. They promptly showed us to the table we had previously.

i've found that, even tho perhaps tired, it's better to dine around 8:30 or 9 on the first day in order to acclimate oneself even at a cheapo tratt, if necessary.

We also love Il Latini. Of course, the last time I dined there we closed the joint with a bunch of Italians singing Dean Martin tunes. Maybe the Chianti will keep you guys awake. Have fun.
