Florence Ponte Vecchio to open market

Does anybody know the distance of San Lorenzo open market shopping center from the Ponte Vecchio? Is it within walking distance?

Everything in the historic center of Florence is within walking distance of everything else for an able-bodied person.

Walking straight from the bridge to the market should take you between 10-20 minutes.

Hi

This is a great tool to measure distances: http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/ . That should give you an idea of how long it will take to walk.

Here is my Florence trip report with pictures and links http://gardkarlsen.com/florence_italy_travelogue.htm . I hope that you can find some useful info there

Regards

Hi D,

Plot your course at www.viamichelin.com.

Choose "on foot" under options.

The open market I think you are referring to is no more than ten minutes if you are a good walker.

We spent four wonderful days in Florence in March and when everyone says you can walk everywhere, believe it!!!

It's amazing how easy it is to get around that city on foot. I've been to other cities where "it's only a short walk" and that's not the case but in Florence it truly is.
