Florence on Sunday
It's been years since I visited Florence and this time around our stay is really brief. Our only uninterrupted day in Florence lands on a Sunday. I'm clear on what sights are and aren't open then, but can someone tell me what to expect for shopping and restaurants on Sundays? What about the leather markets around San Lorenzo? Ponte Vecchio shops? Thank you!

Hi
I just spent a Sunday in Firenze: the department stores were open, and jammed. The biggest book stores were open, and also crowded. Many of the shops near and immediately to the east of Piazza Republicca were open.
There were street vendors in the area with a few purses, belts etc.
The big food Markets were closed, as were Ponte Vecchio shops. Many, many restaurants are open.
