Florence on a Sunday
I know there was a post about what to do in Rome on a Sunday, but how about Florence? We will be getting to Florence on a Sunday morning... any suggestions on what we should do? will most stores, etc. be closed?
thanks in advance!!

This may sound strange but I always try to go to church on Sunday's if possible. I've not religious at all but I always enjoy the music and the place. In Florence we attended Vespers and Mass at San Miniato Al Monte late in the afternoon and enjoyed the view out over the city afterward. Otherwise I know the Accedamia is open on Sunday along with many stores and sidewalk vendors.

Hi,
Accademia and Uffizi are open on Sunday.
It's also a good day to take the no.7 bus from the train station to Fiesole to see the Etruscan ruins, watch the sunset over Florence from the terrace of the Blue Bar and have dinner.
Enjoy.
