Florence Hotel Grand Hotel Minerva?

This hotel has a pretty good rate for our December visit: 125 Euros per double room.

Has anybody stayed there? I'm looking for a very central and nice location, as the weather could be bad in December and we want to make the most of our brief (3 nights) visit.

Of course, I also want clean & comfortable, nice ambience, excellent breakfast, and pleasant staff.

My husband and I stayed there with two of our children a few years ago. At the time, it was clean and comfortable. Its location close to the Pantheon is unbeatable!

Thanks. that's the one in Rome. It's way too expensive for me! I did check it out for our Rome stay.

We really enjoyed Hotel David in Florence. Reasonable rates and good location.

We stayed there once. It was nice but it's close to the train station and the piazza in front is a meeting place for gypsies and undesirables. We have stayed at the Pendini which is on Piazza Republica and other hotels in better areas.

thanks, you all!
Dave, I've booked the David, but it's not very central for a wintry, potentially rainy stay.

I've decided against the Minerva because of construction/renovation going on a the Piazza Santa Maria Novella.

Still looking!
