Florence for a month

Staying in Florence for one month in July, where is a good reasonably priced villa like place for 4 people to stay? any suggestions?

Gets very hot in July and August in Florence, and don't listen to that "dry heat" silliness--it's hot. Just be sure that wherever you end up is air conditioned.

It is true that Florence can be very hot and humid, but if you stay in Fiesole (on the hills right outside Florence) the waether will be cooler and more windy and you will not feel any need for air conditioning.

I'll try and avoid the heat with an air conditioned place the only problem is I don't know where to start looking. Does anyone know of some good websites for this type of search?

There are so many sites. Do you want a whole villa or an apartment? Do you want to be in Florence or outside? Here are some sites to look at:
http://www.italy-rentals.com/
www.initaly.com
http://rentvillas.com
I spent the month of August in Florence and Bill is correct. It is brutally hot. So be prepared.

Check out www.slowtrav.com, a non commercial website where lots of knowledgeable folks post their villa rental experiences in Italy. Don't think you're likely to find a villa with AC.

Buon viaggio

Peggy:
Which apartment did you rent from Doorways, if you don't mind my asking? My husband and I rented the Vasari apartment from them in November and loved it. We will do this again and would like to know about some of the other apartments.

Kathleen

Kathleen, We are renting the Borgo Pinti apt with one bedroom. I have asked a zillion questions of Doorways and so far they have been very reassuring. We know the location but I had questions about the no. of steps, the window situation, the water, etc. Hoping that we will love it. How was your experience with Doorways? Of course we love Florence and this will be our third time going in March. We'll also travel to other places by train, Rome, Assisi, Bologna and maybe Venezia for a night or two. All this because the rental is so reasonable! Hope to hear from you.

Thank you all so much for your helpful information. I appreciate it all. Wish me well as I venture into the intense heat of Florence in July : )
