Not exactly a travel question but....I am looking for a gift for someone who has just returned from Florence...any suggestions on a good book with Florence as it's background.....
Thank you
If it's a woman "Under the Tuscan Sun". Anecdotes and recipes by a woman professor who spent summers in Tuscany for 20 years. My wife loved it. Sequel is Bella Tuscany. (To me it's like reading about how grass grows).
I do not know whether it hsa been translated in English, but "Nero di maggio" is a lovely noir book set in Florence in the late 1930s and wrote by Leonardo Gori, writer and pharmacist in Florence.
