Florence and Tuscany

My dream had finally become true: I went to Italy, saw the marvellous Tuscan
countryside and visited Florence. It was a unique experience! I found myself
in Piazza Signoria in front of Michelangelo’s David that left me breathless.
I then found myself lost in the world of the history of art during my visit
of the Uffizi Gallery. After such an exciting day I treated myself to a
wonderful dinner, ordering a Florentine steak. While I was walking around in
the centre of the old town I discovered in Via Dante Alighieri a really cool
cocktail bar: Mayday Club. As soon as I stepped in I was struck by its great
atmosphere, it was like entering in the world of communication. From the
telegraphs to the first radios and to the first TVs exposed between a
background furnished in a mixture of modern and classic style. I found a
table and I ordered one of the many cocktails on the menu and I have to say
that they are really great, tasty and very well presented accompanied by a
refined and fascinating music in the background in a tranquil and relaxing
atmosphere. After talking to the owner I found out that Mayday Club is not
just a bar but also an art gallery, where art exhibitions of artists from
all over the world often take place, and a laboratory where jewellery and
design lamps are created. So, after such a delightful day I went back to my
hotel and the day after I left for Rome but I will never forget my trip to
Florence that was surely one of the best experiences of my life. I recommend
you all give it a try!

Hi Bowl,

Glad to hear you enjoyed Florence. I hope you are aware that "the David" in Piazza Signoria is a copy and that the original is in the Accademia? I hope you got to see it too!

Buona fortuna

Dayle, I was thinking the same thing -- they should better label the impostor.

Yep. They need a sign saying "This is where the real Davide USED to be"
