Seems worth adding to this thread:

Author: BTilke ([email protected])
Date: 09/20/2002, 02:03 pm
Message: If you'd like to combine a trip to the UK with a visit to Germany (or vice versa), Air Berlin is offering some great deals--aka, round trip flights (London-Nuremberg) for as little as 30 euros INCLUDING taxes. Most flights are in the 90 euro range roundtrip, which is still a good deal.
Nuremberg is one of my favorite places in Germany. It's a hopping city and if you haven't visited it recently, the city's economy is doing well (unlike many other places in Germany), and Franconia is worth exploring (it has some of the best beer in Germany, with many small, prize winning breweries, like Wolfhoher). It's also a good starting point if you want to drive down through the countryside to southern Bavaria.
Nuremberg Airport is compact and efficient and easy to get in and out of.
For more details, see www.air-berlin.de
BTilke (Brussels)

Thanks XXX
The London-Nuremberg specials is something worth considering for a Christmas holiday trip--fly into London for some festivities, see a play or two, then hop over to Nuremberg for the Christmas market and maybe a side trip down to the Alps in southern Bavaria.
BTilke (Brussels)
