flights from Naples to Nice

After spending a week in the south of france the first week of febuary we will take the train down to the amalfi coast for our last week. Our time will be short to get back to Nice for flight out. We've decided to try and fly back to Nice if we can find a cheap flight from Naples.Any suggestions please on which airlines to book. Thanks so much!

AIR LITTORAL used to fly this route, but I think they went bankrupt this year. Andre, another poster on this board, thought that EASYJET might take over the route, so check into that.

Good luck, and please post what you find!

persimmon,

Air Littoral still flies the route, but they are on EXTREMELY shaky financial ground and could very well go bust by the end of the month.

On top of that, they still use the same pathetic pricing system as the majors, meaning that a cheap return cost less than a one-way fare. The cheapest I could find on their site was for EUR 290 return from Nice to Naples.

What you could do is call Air One, their Italian codeshare partner at 011 39 06 478761 (199 20 70 80 if you're already in Italy) and see if you can book an affordable one way ticket through them. That way should Air Littoral go bust, Air One would have to get you to your destination (or at least refund the cost of your ticket).

Finally, there is direct bus service 3x weekly (Wed, Fri & Sun) from Naples to Nice (cost is EUR 67), but it's an all-day, 13.5 hour ride... even slower than the train!

Air Littoral web site:
http://www.airlittoral.com/airlittor...is/accueil.htm

Air One web site (only in italian & only domestic flights can be booked online):
www.air-one.it

Train schedules in Italy:
www.trenitalia.com
or
www.rail.ch
(swiss web site, more user-friendly but no pricing)

Bus service:
www.eurolines.it
direct link to Naples-Nice service:
http://www.eurolines.it/eng/catalogo...POLI-PERPIGNAN

Wish I could offer you better news...

Andre

Thank you Andre, Weadles and Patrick--it looks like a train ride back to Nice is the way to go!

persimmon,

Probably not the advice you wanted to hear, but I'm not sure I would even bother with the Amalfi Coast in early February. It's just not a great choice for that time of year, since the weather can be rainy, and many places may be closed for renovation or on a limited schedule. How about Rome for a week?

Hi persimmon,

I also think that you are going to a lot of trouble to visit the AC out of season in February.
