Just a thought since we live in FL and generally travel to Europe once a year. Next year we plan to take a non stop on Virgin to London from our airport - MCO - and then connect to our destination. We will be returning from yet another city so will book point to point tickets in Europe. This gives us lots of options.

Thank you all for the input. I have been using kayak to price around and most of the flights are with Delta. If i fly out of Venice the flight is early as well. From everything that I have read about Venice I've heard thats a no no because the transportation to the airport early am from Venice is hectic. I will try my search again and use kybourbon plan to fly into Pisa and out of Rome.

I have planned out the itinerary again. Here is the plan:
Fly into Venice gets in at 1:55 p.m.> take low budget plan to Naples which gets to Naples late at night believe it was around 9 p.m.> take train to Rome> take train to Florence where our flight leaves at 10:00 am. Does this sound good?
Oh I forgot to put
Venice-2
Naples-3
Rome-5
Florence-4
I know I am only staying in Venice for 2 nights but I have not been able to find any hotels within our price range for the dates we are going.
Please give me your advice!!!!

StateofMind,
New plan looks OK. I want to give a STRONG rec. for a Naples hotel - it's a converted pallazo, perfectly located in the old center, in Spacannapoli, very large rooms, 16 ft. ceilings, and inexpensive (about 100E-120E/night). Unbeatable value, location, etc. I can't recommend it highly enough.

Yes, Venice hotels ARE more expensive than other Italian cities, but there are affordable options out there:
Poke around in this website for a while (look at hotels in neighborhoods 2, 3, 4, and 5).
