Fitzwilliam Hotel in Dublin

Thinking of booking this hotel in July? Got a rate of 140 euros per room. Is this a good rate for this particular hotel? Anyone stayed there that can give a personal recommendation? Thanks

Donna: I stayed at the Fitzwilliam about 2 years ago. I don't remember the rate but the hotel was great. It was very convenient and the staff was very helpful.

It is the one near St. Stephens Green. I found the rate on the internet. I think it was expedia (I was trying several at the time). I got a confirmation of the rate directly from the hotel. So you could call them and ask.

I used to work there. The hotel is nice - very modern design (by Terence Conran of Habitat fame). The rooms are a bit small and when I was there the bar was never that great (service and atmosphere) and recently they closed Peacock Alley which was one of the best restaurnats in Dublin. All in all you could do worse for that price but you could probably do better.

I heard a lot of good things about Peacock Alley. What happened?

Peacock Alley unfortunately bit the dust due to personal problems suffered by the owner Conrad Gallagher.
