fishing - howth - Ireland - march?

I'm trying to surprise my husband with a fishing experience in Ireland while we're there (3/27-3/31). It doesn't seem like the ideal time according to the posts I've read, but is there any chance I could get him some fresh/ocean fishing in late March? Irishkaren has suggested Howth - does anyone have anything specific to suggest? I'd love to surprise him with this gift. Thank you!

It ain't cheap! The only one with which I am familiar is the river Moy in eastern County Mayo (runs right thru Ballina). The P/R brochures say that it's a salmon or sea trout fisherman's deight. There are more salmon caught there on hook & line than anywhere else in the world. Try Granvile Nesbitt at Foxford fisheries:

The season gets into full swing May thru July but I think one can fish legally from late March thru mid-September.

My other half and two friends went last March from Malahide. It can be a bit rough. All three of them were sick and my guy caught a pregnant crab and they had to throw it back......he had to lie down and have a snooze (on deck) he was so ill on the boat. It was VERY cold as well. I would ask a lot of questions and pick the one that will give you the best experience. I thankfully did not go as it was exactly as I thought and I get seasick too easily.
