Janisj, back to your report title...seems to me you should've lost more than one lady! : ) You are a saint and a cautionary tale for traveling with "unknowns." : ) Love your writing style, your enthusiasm, your knowledge, and mostly, your patience!

Hi JANISJ,
"Leaving late Sept for 6 days in London and 3 in Venice"
So what do you plan to do/explore/investigate in London this time. Also, have you decided what neighborhood?
Look forward to your adventures...

Haven't decided everything - I need to do some research at the V&A one day, and have tix to tour B'ham Palace. I wanted to do the evening champagne tour but their last evening tour is 3 hours after I land at LHR so my chances are slim to none. So I'll just do the 'Royal Day out' combined ticket of the Queen's Gallery/Mews/Palace/gardens.
I'll be checking starting next month for lectures/programs and will hit some galleries I haven't been to in a while.
Staying at Fraser Suites in Queensgate South Kens. Not my usual neighborhood but I got a good deal for a studio w/ a kitchenette. I stayed at Fraser Suites in Edinburgh last year and they were great so figured I'd try again. All the flats I wanted were all booked so was going to stay at the Royal Horseguards, or the Waldorf Hilton again, but Fraser Suites was several hundred $$$ less for a larger room.
And would love to arrange another GTG
And theatre of course . . .

Hi JANISJ,
Sounds as if your trip is shaping up nicely. There should be so many talks/lectures to choose from at that time of year. I am sorry that I missed one about antique auctions at the V & A when I was in London in June, but it did not fit in.
Fraser Suites sounds good. I would also love to try Royal Horseguards some time but way over my budget.
Looking forward to your trip report...

carolyn: That would be great -- I plan on starting a GTG thread in a couple of weeks.
I haven't seen any posts by kavey on the Europe board for quite a while but she's been posting on the Asia Forum.
