first time trip to ireland with teens-first week in dingle peninsula
Hi all. So excited that we were going back to our roots and visiting Ireland with teens for first time. We are there for 2 weeks this august -first week on Dingle Peninsula and then next 6 days near Renvyle Peninsula in Connemara with final night at a B&B near Shannon. thanks for all of your help thus far.
We are there mid August this summer. Landing in Shannon, renting a car and our first week is at this lovely house in Ballydavid.https://www.vrbo.com/441438. Sunday we will attend Dingle races, Monday we are having a private drive of the area including Conner's pass so my husband does not have to drive it and can enjoy the views. We will also do the water safari tour one afternoon to get some time on the water. I understand from the owner of the house that there are some great walking trails right in our back yard.
Am looking for any other suggestions for the first week on the Dingle Peninsula. We dont' want to see the ring of Kerry and also don't want to spend another full day in the car. Prefer closer spots that we can drive to so we can hike, shop, listen to music, have a great meal or pint...all suggestions appreciated.

Maybe consider some time in Kenmare. There are a number of marine life boating trips that teens might enjoy that leave from Kenmare Bay. Also, if you can book as a non-guest, Sheen Falls lodge has falconry that also might be of interest to teens.

Kids may love taking a boat out in Dingle Bay and see Dingle's famous dolphin - Funghi who has been entertaining visitors for years now as he frolics by the boats. Came in 1984 so not sure he's around this year but seems so.

If you haven't booked your Slea Head Drive yet, we used and loved Dingle Slea Head Tours (http://www.dinglesleaheadtours.com)
Killarney National Park is only an hour or so drive away. It is beautiful. You could spend a few hours or all day here. We loved hiking to Torc Waterfall. The gardens were also beautiful. (https://www.killarneynationalpark.ie/).
