First time travelling alone and going to Dublin

Hi - this is my first time traveling alone. I'm in my late 20's and female, looking to stay in dublin for about 5 days end of april 2012 (which is very soon since i just decided). I don't plan on driving and would like to rely on walking or public transport. local food and culture would be great to experience, so if there are any hole in the wall places or reccs that aren't insanely touristy, i would really appreciate it! I live in nyc so being able to see and experience things outside of a typical city setting would be great.

Thanks in advance for any advice!

Here are a couple of links that you can check out for ideas.

It's a bit more 'real' than most tour guides.
