First time to Paris!
I'm trying to figure out where to stay in Paris and could use some help. Has anyone ever stayed at the following hotels?
- Hotel Britanique
- Hotel Burgundy
- Galileo Hotel
Your help would be appreciated!
Also, is it easy to take the train from the airport into the city or would we be better off paying for a Taxi? Would prefer to not have to take a train and then get on a bus.

Message: Thanks for the, uhhhh, late reply but i have already returned from my trip. i stayed at the Britannique and loved it! i don't know why i haven't heard a lot about it. The location was great and staff friendly (but a bit reserved). Rooms are not big but they are decorated nice and cozy. The bathrooms are sparkling clean and come with Crabtree and Evelyn amenities. The hotel also has a very nice lounge. Great choice. One issue - No A/C so this may not be the best summer choice.
I also think this hotel received a positive reco on the curtrent thread "Paris is overwhelming".

Hi
the train/metro airport to Paris trip is easy, as long as you have minimal, manageable luggage. You will have to maneuver it through long corridors, up and down flights of stairs, etc.
There are airport buses that stop in a couple of central stops in Paris--you'd have to walk or taxi from there.
Or take a taxi, these days I'd guess it's about 60-70 euro.
There are also Paris shuttle vans that make more than one stop and charge per person. It's less expensive than a taxi, but the trip can be long if there are several hotel stops to be made before yours.
I have a file on Paris; if you'd like to see it, email me at

I just got back from Paris,(and Belgium) yesterday. I saw the Hotel Britanique, it's in a great location.
I stayed at the Hotel Henri IV, it's brand new and only a block away from Notre Dame, it faces the St. Severin church on Rue St. Jacques on the left bank.
There are dozens of places to eat within two blocks, and the RER train to the airports, (St. Michel station) is only a block away. I can't wait to go back!
For 2 people a room was 140 euros a night, less for a single, well worth it.
The train fare was only 8 euros from CDG to St. Michel, then you walk 2 min. to the hotel.
