Bluemocha - You don't have to explain and you won't 'get it' from anybody! This is your trip! I was just wondering what you had decided upon. You will have an amazing time anywhere, I'm sure = )
I am going to Rome for the first time next month, but my sense of it is that while it is as amazing as Paris, it is amazing in a very different way - lots of art, history, architecture, on the streets. Paris has a different vibe that think might be more appropriate for you since this is your honeymoon. But I would have a hard time making that choice. Do some research on both cities, talk to your wife, and then decide = )

Anyway I have another sort of dumb question...
Which district to stay is best? 17 Arrondissement (near to Arc du Triomphe), somewhere near to Louvre or somewhere nearer to District 6 (St. Germain)?
I found some cheap apartments near 15 Arrondissement.. is that too far away?
Sorry but Paris seems so big on the map, some say near the Arc is nice & some say near the St Germain is great.. so where do you think would be the perfect place? It will be a disaster if i stayed in the wrong place.
I tried to read more & more reviews but the more I read, the more confused I get. haha...

The OP is not getting flamed because he is going to EuroDisney; he/she is getting flamed because: 1) this is a Honeymoon trip- never been to Paris- in Paris only planning to go to EuroDisney (4 out of 5 days) AND never heard there was much to Paris until he read the responses here

This is not trying to persuade you make any changes. Many will agree with Lanee's thoughts about Venice, and you might also find a day is plenty and you are ready to get out. So, I am not saying anyone has to go there.
On the other hand, many, many people find there is never enough time in Venice. Some people think Venice is the most magical place they have ever been. I have been to Venice six times (about two weeks altogether) and there is so much more to Venice than just San Marco and Rialto.
You might look up some threads on the forum about Venice.

Okay everyone...I posted again AFTER my intial posting about agreeing that he should see Disneyland. Whew...this Disney thing is a hot topic!
Paris vs Rome.
I agree with Sam86 about Rome vs Paris. Rome is very impressive, but in a different way than Paris We have friends that say Rome is their favorite city in the world (but we like to point out to ourselves that they have never been to Paris. hahahaa). I found that Paris was cleaner, generally full of more polite people and quiter. It was more romantic (in our opinion) where Rome is a bustling city with AMAZING historical sights. It's something that every person has a different opinion on, so I think spreading time equally between the two cities is a good choice. That's exactly what we did, and now when we go back we know which city we'd prefer to stay in.

Romance is, like beauty, in the eyes of the beholder. I personally have never found Paris particularly romantic, nor Venice, and have been to both cities on a number of occasions. I love Rome but not sure that I would call that city romantic either but I prefer Rome to both Paris and Venice by a mile.
The only definite thing is that we all do not agree on what constitutes a romantic city or a must see destination. That is what travel is all about - the opportunity to experience and decide for ourselves.
That being said, IMO the epitome of non romantic is anything to do with Disney.

While I very much enjoy some of the big cities of Europe (especially Berlin, Rome), for me romantic comes in smaller packages.
Florence and the Tuscan countryside in the off season; Salzburg and it's magnificent Salzkammergut; the villages of the Bavarian Alps including Garmisch; the lovely towns along the Main river in Germany including Weurzburg and Bamberg; the Dolomiti and Umbria in Italy. Natural beauty is a big component for me personally, more so than a large city.
