Hello. I am not sure if you have taken your trip already but I am taking the same trip with my 16 year old daughter next summer. I would love it and be most grateful if you will allow me to benefit from your experience! Area, hotels, day trips and travel itinerary. If you would be so kind it would be greatly appreciated. Also, anyone who can chime in with info please. I have no starting point
Thank you all

Use Time Out to find good places for breakfast. There will be loads of really good independant cafes recommended, and you can then enjoy something a bit more British than a muffin and an espresso!
Cambridge is a very easy day trip - around an hour on the train from either Kings Cross or Liverpool Street Station.
I think your daughter might like to see a bit of East London, eg Spitalfields market - lots of very good fashion/clothing/crafts stalls, ethnic cuisine such as Indian around the Brick Lane area and Vietnamese along Kingsland Road in the Hoxton area, foodie night markets etc.

cynkane: Here is your own thread: http://www.fodors.com/community/euro...eland-trip.cfm
Have you made any decisions based on the info/advice you received on that thread?

Just to be clear, I am not Cynkane. We did take our trip and stayed at the Trafalgar hotel. Great hotel, wonderful staff, perfectly located. We had asked for a high room but not the sixth floor because of noise from rooftop bar. We were on the fifth floor with a partial view of the Square. The location in general, however, is not a quiet one! But because of the great location we walked to Buckingham Palace, Westminister, Big Ben, Parliment, St. James Park, Churchill War Rooms, Covent Garden, the West End, the London Eye, the British Museum and may more locations. We even walked back from Kennsington Gardens via New Hyde park and Oxford Street one day. Easy tube ride to other locations or if you do not want to walk as much as we did. Tons of quick cheap breakfast options right outside our door. Trafalgar has lots of street performers and artists which were fun to see each day. Plus, my daughter had researched great food options--so we ate well!
We did notice the massive amount of construction near the Victoria train station. Very glad we did not stay there.
Thanks for all your guidance!
