The ones mentioned by Sue are the first ones that come to mind and probably your best bet, they have a lot of scenery in them and are Pagnol's love letter to Provence (he was born there in a small town near Aix, Aubagne). I liked them all, Le Chateau de ma Mere perhaps last in preference. More modern settings are one by Eric Rohmer, Conte d'automne (concentrates more on people than the place, but I liked it), and there is a new one that just came out on video (at least in Europe) which was shown at Cannes last summer, Les âmes fortes, set in 19th Cen. provence.
