ferry to Corsica
we will be travelling in Italy later this month and have been reading great things about Corsica. I have searched for info about the ferry system(s) going to Bastia but have not been able to get the information I need. We would like to go from Livorno or Piombino to Bastia and return to Naples . If anyone can direct me to a website I can take it from there. Also any personal experiences would certainly be helpful.

Hi A9 - For Livorno/Piombino-Bastia ferries see:
http://www.corsica-ferries.it/
I'm not aware of direct ferries between Corsica and Naples. I believe you'd have to return via mainland Italy (- and continue by train) - or via Sardinia.
Hope this helps ...

For ferries from the Italian mainland to Corsica, there are two operators, Corsica Ferries and Moby Lines (www.moby.it).
There are no services from Corsica to Napoli.
You can go from Corsica to Sardina (Moby Lines and www.saremar.it), then there are several services from northern Sardinia to Civitavecchia (Corsica Ferries, Moby Lines, www.tirrenia.it and www.snav.it). The only service from northern Sardinia to Napoli is by Di Maio Lines who don't start till June (www.dimaiolines.it).
