Greetings. I am so confused! We are in Stresa for 4 days in June. We want to visit the islands on day 2, starting with Isola Bella the first . I’ve seen ads for buy ahead, hop on and off, but they don’t start at Bella. Is it necessary to buy in advance? Do they sell out? I can’t find any info

No need to buy ahead. Just walk down to the ferry terminal in Stresa and buy tickets - there are many people selling tickets for different boats, but they all go to the same places and sell tickets for the same price. Our first stop was Isola Madre, but as far as I know you can just stay on the boat until you reach Isola Bella (third stop). If in doubt just ask when you buy tickets.
