Ferry Boppard to Filsen, Germany

How often do the ferries go from Boppard Germany across the Rhine to Filsen? We want to take a trip from Boppard to Marksburg Castle and need to time the ferry with the train.

Thanks so much.

You can also take the K-D boats between the two ports i believe.

Thanks, I think we'll just take the KD boat. Much easier to figure out!

The ferry runs every 20 mins for most of the day:

I took the ferry across from Boppard to Filsen in 2004, and it seemed to me it ran about as soon as it unloaded and loaded cars - pretty often. Note, from the ferry dock across from Boppard, in the middle of nowhere, to Filsen is about a km walk.

If the K-D boat is running, I would suggest taking it. Not only do you avoid the walk, but the tram to the castle meets the boat.

What wonderful information! We'll take the boat and look for the train to the castle!

Thanks so much.

Here, www.marksburg.de/images/bahn1.jpg, is a picture of the "train" to the castle. It's actually a Mercedes tractor pulling three passenger carts. I believe it meets each boat. You can also catch it in the old town.
