ferry between Lindau and Meersburg
Does anyone know how long the ferry ride is between Lindau and Meersburg? Do they leave every hour and a half? (I thought I read that somewhere). Also, in the middle of August, will everyone be able to get on--or will there be a waiting line? Thanks!

2 hours 35 minutes as per http://www.bodenseeschiffahrt.de/
Can you get on? Depends on time and day - be early in line and you'll get on.

The ships' capacities are between 500 and 1000 passengers, so I wouldn't worry about the ships being full, but the first people to get on will have the best choice of seats. The ships sail between Bregenz and Konstanz, calling at several ports where people embark and disembark.

There is a ferry line (transporting cars, trucks, busses, bikes and passengers) between Friedrichshafen (Germany) and Romanshorn (Switzerland)

and another one between Meersburg (Germany) and Staad near Constance (Germany).

There are passenger boats (transporting passengers and passengers with bicicles, no bikes, no cars) on a scheduled line service connecting Lindau (Germany) with Meersburg (Germany). As said, the passenger boats can transport 500 to 1.000 passengers.
