I'm trying to find out whether it's possible to take a ferry from Northern Germnay to Helsinki, Finland during the summer (I figure that it would be quicker than taking a train through the Baltics and Russia). I'm looking for just a passenger ferry and not really a cruise type thing. Does anyone know what the price would be around? Thank you very much.

I would also appreciate information about ferries to Helsinki that leave from Copenhagen or anywhere else in Denmark. Thanks again.

We were in denmark last year, then stopped over to Stockholm where we took the Silja line ferry to Helsinki. It was a lot of fun with beautiful scenery, great food and the prices on board were really unbelievable. Apparantly, many folks from the area, especially Finland do the 24 hour turnaround ferry for the shopping and partying. Sorry I can't help for ferry from denmark, but if you can get to Sweden (beautiful city) I would choose Silja over the Viking line. Have fun
