Does anyone know if the ferries from Sorrento to Positano will be running starting the 20th of May? Also, is it faster to take the buses or the ferries in morning? I have heard traffic can be bad on the coastal road.

The bus will take about an hour. They run much more often than the ferries.

They're running already, but at present only "lunedì, mercoledì, venerdì e domenica" (Mon, Wed, Fri and Sun)...

Likely to go daily from the first of June - if not before!

Two round-trips per day, as it's been for the last couple of years...

If you looked at the link, you'll notice there weren't any morning times listed to Sorrento.

Per the website:

I interpret this as... Depart Sorrento M,W, F, S at 10:30 and arrive in Position at 11:05. Am I reading incorrectly?

I guess I am suprised. The last bus leaves Amalfi at 9:00 pm and Positano at 9:40. That may cut it close for having dinner and then returning to Sorrento. Are taxis available in the evenings and if so about how much would it cost from Positano.

I may have to rethink where we have dinner, or carefully watch the time (which is difficult in europe).

Yes, sorry. I thought you were going to Sorrento and the earliest ferry wasn't getting you there until noon and you said you wanted morning.

Buses do run later in summer (close to midnight). Perhaps you could plan a nice lunch in Positano instead of dinner.

You can probably find a Positano B&B for not much more than a taxi would cost - a private car firm should be a little cheaper, at 60 Euro or so...
