It's an old movie (but can a movie with Audrey Hepburn and Cary Grant ever be old??).... with lots of interesting Paris locations: Charade<BR><BR>PS I'm the original "Grandma" on this forum. Not the recent one complaining about walking. No offense intended, but think I'm a little zippier than my usurper - -

Hi<BR>It is Theirry L'hermitte. He was also in very funny film called The Dinner Party. And yes, he has wonderful blue eyes!

Paris to the Moon, Piano Shop on the Left Bank, The Flaneur (Edmund White) and Versailles (a fiction by Kathryn Davis) are all wonderful reads.

<BR><BR>Michele, yes, the soundtrack to Amelie is the nice instrumental music played throughout the film. The cd contains 20 tracks in all, only four of which have vocals, the rest are pure instrumental. Highly recommended.

Thanks for all the replies. So glad there's another Charade fan out there - it's one of my favorites. Unfortunately, they will probably kill it in the remake (called "The Truth About Charlie") that's going to be released this fall.

Yes, the Hairdressers Husband is very sexy and french! Has anyone else noticed the endings to French films can be so different that what we are use to in America! I watched it the same weekend I rented Deje Vu! What a nice way to spend a weekend!

For something published within the last ten years, try Le Divorce by Diane Johnson. American girl goes to Paris to help her sister, whose husband walked out on her, and finds herself turning into a real Parisienne. Warning, though: skip the sequel (not really a sequel though since it doesn't have the same characters), Le Mariage, which was very tedious.

Michael--here's another vote for Charade (on my all-time favorites list), one for Amelie, and one for Queen Margot also (it's such a very French movie--even though it's set in the 17th century).

Movies: <BR>"Ridicule" (1996) takes place six years before the revolution in the court of Louis XVI. The story is humorous with wicked wit and the setting is Versailles.<BR><BR>I also liked "Camille Claudelle".

We just had Charade on tele here and I hadn't seen it for years and years. It still held up well, a wonderful movie. However my favourite is Amelie, I've seen it twice and it's fantastic, whoever wrote it has the wildest imagination. A must see.

Someone mentioned the book but there's a great old movie of Is Paris Burning? Also (book and movie) Scarlet Pimpernel. And how about listening to a CD of Edith Piaf music?? Can't get more Parisian than that!
