Favorite Hotel in Rome?

Have any of you stayed anywhere that you would highly recommend? I have never been, but have been told the Spanish steps is the area to stay. I would prefer 4 star and location isn't as important as it is to be able to walk out of the hotel and have many dining and cafe options. We will walk most places.

Thanks guys,
Ciao!

What price range do you have in mind? We prefer the Piazza Navona area; it's more centrally located to the things that we like to do (especially in the evening).

I do not suggest the Spanish Steps area. Look at Navona Suites or my wife's favorite, Albergo Cesari.

Albergo del Senato overlooks the square in front of the Pantheon. Great location! Double paned windows are very effective in blocking out noise. http://www.albergodelsenato.it/m/
