I was in London in May and did a walking tour of Highgate. The tour ended at a location nowehre near Tube. Guide said you could walk down hill there, ro go back to where we stated from. Sounded easy to walk back so started out. No map with me, used my instincts...and got lost. Eventually decided to ask next person I saw where to go. Next person was a little old lady, at least in her 70's and she told me to go down block, turn right and its up on the left. So I head out, at a good pace. About two blocks later I hear a pitter patter behind me...and its the little old lady who had run to catch up to me..to remind me that I had to cross the street up there to the left. I was shocked and surprised. She seemed frail for one, and then that she wanted to make doubly sure I went in the right direction. Priceless.
