Familia Hotel

I'm having trouble contacting Hotel Familia to check available dates. The e-mail link through "Paris-Hotels.com" doesn't work. Can I reach them w/o making an international phone call?
Also, any experience w/ Parc St. Severin? I've got a reservation through Hotelboulevard.com, but I didn't get any room details. Thanks,
Craig

I stayed at the Hotel Familia when I was in Paris two years ago, and my sister stayed at the Parc St-Severin just last month. We loved the Familia, and she said the St-Severin was fine, but she would have preferred our hotel after seeing it. It is also in a somewhat quieter area. I would recommend calling the hotel, it seems to be the best way to deal with them. Don't worry if you don't speak french, there is always someone at the front desk who speaks english.

Cheryl's right, phone or fax them, just try to reach them when their day staff is on duty since I usually find day staff to be more skilled in English and knowledgeable. Phone from US: +33 1 43 54 55 27 Fax from US + 33 1 43 29 61 77
The advantage of the fax is that when you get a reply, you'll have a hard copy to bring with you as backup
Just an FYI on Familia ... I booked four nights in January for our May trip. I did everything by fax and had the confirmation from them that we had our room, I secured it with a credit card and then received a second confirmation from the hotel. Then, when I confirmed the hotel 30 days out, they said that we did not have a room, even though I faxed them everything they sent me saying that we DID have a room. Essentially, we were left without a room in the midst of tourist season. (Happy ending: our hotel was fantastic that we ended up with) This isn't to say Familia is a horrible place ... maybe not 100% reliable.

Just a warning, if the Familia has no room and they try to book you into their adjacent hotel, the Minerve, DON'T TAKE IT! My brother and I had a horrible time at the Minerve last month. The service was really bad and the staff (except for a woman named Mitre) was arrogant & indifferent. Totally appalling for people in the hospitality industry. Apparently they were being rude to most of the other guests, as well.

Thanks for the heads ups. I'm awaiting their return fax. I asked for room availability anytime after 9/16, since we're pretty flexible with our dates. Just hope we can find a decent deal on plane tickets. Hoping some fall specials might kick in as we get closer to Sept/Oct.

Have stayed at the Familia twice, with a third upcoming. Have always done everything via fax and phone and never had a problem. To my knowledge, Eric does not want to have e-mail, he likes to speak to people. Sorry Heather had a problem.
