I read your previous trip report, which I found lovely and informative. So much good information! Now I am trying to figure out how to include Pont-Aven in my itinerary. I see that you have the Michelin Guide, so I won't bother looking up festivals. If you like photography, there is an outdoor exhibit in La Gacilly running until the end of September, but I think that is further south than you will be. https://www.festivalphoto-lagacilly.com/en

Thanks for your help. We have booked out flights to CDG for mid September and have begun to decide where to stay. We will take the train to Rennes, and depending on timing, we will stay a night in the city before renting a car and heading north. We are slow travelers, preferring to stay in 2-3 places and make day trips, especially since this is a a two week trip. Since we are concentrating on North Brittany, we am thinking about lodging in Dinan and one of villages on the Pink Granite coast. We may stay a night on Mt St Michel or make a day trip there from Dinan.. Do any of prefer one village over another on the coast? I'd love a nice view..
Do any of you have suggestions for lodging and restaurants? Although we usually rent a gite, this time I think we'll stay in B&Bs or hotel in town. We don't want to cook. Because of back problems, we'd prefer a place that has an elevator or not very steep stairs.
Thank you.

I think I am a bit of an outlier here but I much prefer Dinard over Dinan. I feel like there is a better selections of shops, restaurants there and it is one of my favorite markets in Britanny. We have friends who have a home in St Enogat, which is kind of a suburb of Dinard and I love staying in that location because it is more like its own village and flat easy walking. You might look at the EMERIA Dinard Hôtel Thalasso & Spa, 1 Av. du Château Hébert, 35800 Dinard there. It is a nice hotel with a great view and easy walking to the little village part of St Enogat and about a twenty minute walk into the center of Dinard itself. It has parking and an elevator and of course very nice spa facilities.
