falkland or scone palace

my husband and i will be in scotland in late may for a week. we have time to take in either falkland or scone palace. they both seem to have interesting histories, lovely decors, and beautiful architecture.
we are undecided which one to pick and hoped that someone who has visited both could give us an idea which one they prefered and why.
we appreciate any input.
thank you.

They are very different. Scone is a stately home and Falkland is living history.

For my taste, Falkland, but I can't speak for yours

We'll be visiting both in April...I'll try to remember to write about them upon our return!

Definitely Falkland if you only have time for one. The Palace is wonderful, the gardens are really beautiful, and the village is nice to walk around.

Scone is interesting - but (as Sheila says) more of a smallish stately home. Scone is nice - Falkland is wonderful. You can also hike up the adjacent Lomond hills that loom over the village for wonderful views over all of Fife.
