Extra day in Munich or Prague

Hello,
We are on vacation in Europe in May. One of things I am now reconsidering is switching - do 1 less day in Munich and add the day to Prague. Mostly I was going to use the day to go to Rothenburg - but upon reading am finding that it is logistically a pain(through train or bus). We only have 2 days in Prague so I was thinking of adding on another day. Any opionions.

Thanks

I have not been to Munich and you do not say how long you will be there. However, I was in Prague last summer and stayed 10 days. It was not too long either. There was plenty to do and Prague is a wonderful place. Hope you have a great trip.

Hi, it might be a good idea to give an outline of the rest of the itinerary. Presumably people can make better suggestions that way.

Have lots of fun.

Good decision. You will find Prague more enjoyable than Munich. There's more to do and see in Prague. Munich is one of the most overated cities in Europe.

I think most people would find an extra day in Prague more wortwhile too. If you could make it to 3 days in Prague that would be much better.

Hi f,

It would help if you told us how many nights you are scheduling for Munich.

I would immediately be, and always am, suspicious when I see a post with the words that this or that place is "overrated." I love Prague, too, but I am not stupid enough to think you will like it as much as I do based on what you HAVEN'T told us about your interests, etc. But, of course, that fact hasn't stopped a bunch of folks from ASSUMING you are just like they are.

Ira gives good advice...if you REALLY want some decent advice, tell us more about your expectations and interests.

If you like old, historic, FASCINATING cities, choose Prague.

Thanks for your response everyone. I am going to try to see if I can change my day to prague, changing hotels and such. I really have always wanted to spend time in Prague. If I really like Munich I may have to go back again later. Maybe for next world cup soccer.

Thanks
