Extended Overseas stay..

Does anyone have any advice about an extended stay in Rome? I'm going to college there, and was wondering if there was anything in particular i should see while i'm there, or if there was any useful tips for foreign students/travelers. any help you can give is greatly appreciated. Thanx!

You mean you went to the trouble of applying to college and getting accepted - IN ROME - and you haven't a clue what "in particular" there is to see and do there?

Amazing. Only in America, I suppose.....

I know of all the major places to see, who wouldn't, but in most big cities there are hidden things that not many people know about. I don't want my experience in Rome for 4 years to be like every other tourists, if you don't know of anything, then don't reply please.

Dani - pick up a book called, "City Secrets, Rome". It's written by architects, writers, other people with an intimate connection to the city. I have the one for London, it's brilliant. Even the book is small and elegant - a red cloth bound cover with a red ribbon to hold your page (the London one).

Why would anyone reply to this idiot? You seems to be great CEO material. There are many American companies in need of your mind.

For goodness sake Dani, you'll be in Rome for 4 YEARS. I'm sure with all that time you will find out about hidden gems most probably from the locals you'll meet and then you can tell us!!

I am amazed at how nasty people are when responding to a post on this site. Yes, I mean you ,Tommy. What's the point of being mean? Makes you feel pretty good about yourself to call someone an idiot?
