I just read a blog cmt from some travellers that are there in Viareggio. They said as of that posting 16 people are dead. A nonconfirmed post of course. Another tragedy.

I stopped by my favorite Italian grocery store in Arlington, VA, yesterday, and talked with the owner about this. She's from a town not far from Viareggio and said she'd been on the phone with relatives who said there were 18 confirmed dead. Very sad story.
