Hi,<BR>We just returned from 5 days in Paris and had a fabulous time in spite of the rain.<BR>I wanted to pass along a recommendation, not only for excellent food, but also because the waitstaff was SO cool and friendly:<BR>Le Carre in the 8th, near the St. Augustin area (44 69 33 19).<BR>We dealt with at least 5 people (we went two evenings in a row) and everyone of them was friendly and helped us interpret the menu or recommended a good wine, etc.<BR>The food was out of this world (&quot;appetizers&quot;, main course, desserts...all fabulous) and the prices were VERY reasonable for Paris ($100 for 2 with everything, including a bottle of wine). Oh, and the portions were quite large, going against another Paris stereotype.<BR>I hope you will give them a try if you're around the 8th!!

Steve,<BR>Thanks for the restaurant review. When my husband and I go to Paris, we like to stay at a hotel in the 8th near the St. Augustin church (Hotel Le Lavoisier). Glad to have a nearby restaurant recommendation.<BR>Diane

Do you need reservations for La Carre?<BR><BR>Also - worrying about making reservatons for our upcoming trip (12/5-12/12). Will most likely eat in restaurants of this price range and lower. Are reservations necessary?
